You don't have to manage this alone.

Hi, my name is James. I'm a men's counsellor and coach.

In my work with men, I see how hard we work just to feel like we're enough, the loneliness that comes with it, and the desire to change without knowing where to start.

This is a space where you can try a different way, be met with compassion, and be understood without judgement.

For those wanting change, we'll get clear on who you want to be and the relationships you want to build, and work on turning that into real, actionable change.

For those who want to let go of the burdens of traditional masculinity, we will unpack where these expectations come from, and what it would mean to define masculinity on your terms.

What I may help with

Counselling for Men

This is a space to take care of your emotional wellbeing, let go of past patterns, and understand what might be going on beneath the surface.

Better Relationships

Healthy relationships are built on skills that we can learn at any life stage. Together, we will work on better communication, conflict resolution, emotional regulation, setting boundaries, asking for help, and identifying what a healthy relationship looks like for you.

Porn Recovery

The misuse of porn is often about emotional distress and disconnection. Let us change that and help you build a healthier relationship with porn, without shame or judgement.

Life Coaching for Men

Let's figure it out together. We will identify your goals, understand what's in the way, and measure progress through values instead of outcomes.

Sex and Intimacy

This is where we can address performance anxiety, get better at navigating consent, and learn to express desire without hestitation.

This is focused on supporting men in relationships and dating.

Self-Development Program

I offer a six-week, one-on-one program (one hour per week), drawing on tools from my training as a men's coach, anger and violence counsellor, and intimacy counsellor. Topics can include authentic communication, active listening, understanding conflict, navigating consent, attachment style, and healthy relationships. Topics are also interchangeable to suit your needs.

Your questions answered

Can I book you for my boyfriend/husband?

I would generally advice against booking counselling or coaching for someone else, as this work is most effective when the client is driven to be here themselves.

Can I book from outside Auckland or NZ?

Absolutely.

I offer online sessions meaning anyone, no matter where you are in the world, can access my services. However, as I'm professionally registered as a counsellor only in New Zealand, I'm only able to offer coaching (rather than counselling) to clients based overseas.

How do I get started with you?

If you are ready to get started with our first session, please use my contact form below and we can book it in.

If you would like to meet me first to better discuss your needs, or see if we can be a good fit, you can book a free 20-min call with me.
